One of Spain's signature red wines, a wine that speaks of the remarkable
terroir of the Penedes in Northern Spain. Cabernet Sauvignon is
obviously not a Spanish grape but here in this single vineyard it
creates a wine that's nothing short of World Class.
Wine & Spirits Magazine scored this 92 points saying "Miguel Torres was a pioneer when it came to importing French varieties to Spain. Torres Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic, first released in 1970. The latest vintage is filled with herbal and cassis notes in a powerful, generous cabernet. Its structure is strong, rich in tannins and flavors, lending the wine a youthful feel. Give it two to three years in the cellar as it will gain complexity with age."
and the Wine Advocate also scored it 92 points saying "The 2011 Mas La Plana is a textbook warm climate Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the first ever produced in Spain. It's a ripe vintage (warm harvest), but the wine shows restraint and balance, with classical blackberry and cigar box aromas—in line with the 2010 vintage that was also excellent. It has fine, classical Cabernet tannins and good acidity. Nicely balanced and ready for a good development in bottle."
and the Wine Spectator scored this 93 saying "This polished red is focused and harmonious, with plum, cassis, licorice, tobacco and mineral notes that mingle gracefully over well-integrated tannins. Marries density and freshness, presenting a long, savory finish. Drink now through 2026."
