Moillard, historically based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the Côte de Nuits, offers Domaine wines (Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune) and a traditional signature of Burgundy wines. The old documents of Nuits-Saint-Georges attest that the Moillard family already owned vineyards before the French Revolution. But the Winery saw a real boom in 1850, when Symphorien Moillard bought his first wines to satisfy an order too important for his own Domain, thus initiating his activity of wine trading. Since then, Moillard has carried out the meticulous job of wine making and aging to bring all their wines to their full potential.
Today, Maison Moillard has become a veritable institution in Nuits-Saint-Georges. It owns a 11.5 hectare domain in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Savigny-les-Beaune, Côte de Nuits Village and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The oenologists of Maison Moillard select the finest grapes from the best plots to give expression to the terroirs and Climats of Burgundy in all their diversity. Thanks to the ties formed over the years between Maison Moillard and the vineyard, they express the know-how passed down over several generations in the production and ageing of Burgundy’s wines and crémants.
This wine has lovely aromas of fresh and ripe red cherry, strawberry that are enhanced by the floral component and just a hint of spice. Lots of bright acidity and freshness on the palate, with just the right amount of concentration… its a serious wine for a Village level, screaming value for Under $15!
