Moshin Vineyards and Winery began in 1989 as the dream of Rick Moshin, a San Jose State University math instructor, with the Moshin Family’s purchase of a ten-acre Pinot Noir Vineyard located in the Russian River Valley. Rick learned his craft working along side Pinot Noir Icon, Gary Farrell who was a customer for Moshin Vineyard grapes and winemaker for the first several vintages of Moshin Pinot. The goal at Moshin Vineyards is to carefully guide the grapes through the winemaking in a minimally invasive process in order to give the wines full expression. For this Sonoma Coast bottling, grapes were sourced from select vineyards located in the wind-chilled Petaluma Gap region of the Appellation and were hand-picked and carefully sorted. Rick's all-new 4-tier gravity-flow winery, allows gentle handling of the grapes to retain the subtle perfume and bright flavors of strawberry, and black cherry. A mere 750 cases were produced of this lush Pinot. Aged 20 months in 30% new French oak it shows inviting aromas of exotic spices, black cherries, strawberries and a hint of cola. It has a silky smooth texture with sumptuous flavors including black cherry, fresh plums, pomegranate, toasted pecans and indian spice. It has a lively balance that's both mouthwatering and a telltale sign of a long life ahead, so enjoy it now and continue to over the next 3-5 years. Limited!!
