Winemaker for Booker Vineyards, Eric Jensen launched My Favorite Neighbor in tribute to winemaker Stephan Asseo of L’Aventure Winery who was his neighbor and helped make him the winemaker he is today.
The Westside Hills of Paso Robles are clay soil vineyards amazingly similar to those found in Napa and Bordeaux. And these special sites are farmed meticulously by the farmers who have become his Favorite Neighbors. With their dedication to the land, they are able to craft world-class wine without any shortcuts or compromises. This wine is named for his parents, Harvey and Harriet, and this 2019 is the latest release.
This 2021 is a red blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 12% Syrah, 7% Petit Sirah, 7% Malbec, 2% Grenache, and 2% Cabernet Franc.
James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "Aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries with hints of violets, black olives and vanilla. Rich and ripe character but with balance and focus. Full-bodied with finely polished tannins and a deep dark-fruited character."
