About Napa Smith 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
2015 Napa Smith Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic example Napa Valley Cab from a near perfect vintage. Early bud break and a warm, dry spring led to an almost flawless growing season. The grapes were hand -picked at the optimal state of maturity, showing a perfect balance of classic Cabernet fruit flavors and rich acidity which came together allowing our winemaker to create a memorable wine. The grapes were sourced from three prime vineyards in the heart of the Napa Valley; Red Hen, Skellenger and Oak Knoll. These vineyards traditionally produce grapes with vibrant flavors combined with the structure associated with the high mineral content of the soils found in this area. This wine aged 18 months in: 40% new French oak and 10% new American oak.
This classic Cab shows aromas of spice, dried fruits, black cherries, cassis and soft rose petals. On the palate it brings black currants and fresh black cherries followed by dried fruits and dark chocolate. There's a rich, caressing mouthfeel and a ligering finish. Awarded a Double Gold Medal in the WSWA Wine Tasting Competition. Great Value!
