By now you certainly know about Navigator. Winemaker Trevor Sheehan produces these stunning wines with the help of his friends in Napa Valley that bring him prime fruit that he selects and then turns into lush, expressive wines. But, they never break the bank. In fact Navigator wines are some the best value Napa reds we've ever come across. Well, here's the latest. This Cab from the excellent 2018 vintage is sourced from mature vines in prime vineyards in sub-AVA's around Napa Valley including Yountville, St. Helena and Atlas Peak. After 15 months of aging in 60% new oak barrels, this wine offers layered complexity and an array of flavors including black cherries, blackberries, roasted coffee, vanilla bean, anise and cocoa. The tannins are remarkably supple for a young wine (did I mention the outstanding 2018 vintage?)
And once again we did a double take when we saw the price tag. Needless to say we bought all we could because we know our Wine Express customers love a wine that really delivers and is ALSO a great deal! Don't wait though because Trevor's wines are never huge productions but carefully sourced boutique gems that come and go. And this one is sure to go.
