About Pierre Bouree 2017 Meursault 1er Cru, la Piece Sous le Bois
In the 19th century Pierre Bouree took over a wine business founded in 1864 in Gevrey-Chambertin and gave his name to it. Today, fourth generation nephews Bernard and Jean-Christophe Vallet carry on a well-established tradition of fine Burgundy production at Pierre Bouree Fils. Over the years they have acquired many vineyards and much of the wine now comes from estate vineyards. Their approach is a focus on quality with restricting yields for greater expression and no herbicide use. All the grapes undergo a careful triage.
This wine is sourced from the highest altitude Premier Cru in Meursault, this could also be labelled "Meursault 1er Cru Blagny" as it is in the hamlet located between Meursault and Puligny. 2017 along with 2014 was the finest white Burgundy vintage of the last decade.
