About Quaking Hills 2010 Paden's Parch Red, Alexander Valley

Quaking Hills is a small, family owned winery in the Alexander Valley. Their Hidden Spring Vineyard has proven to be an extremely prime spot for the noble Bordeaux varieties that they blend for this, their flagship wine, their best of the best. The 2007 Paden's Patch was our fastest selling wine ever so of course we had to grab this 2010 as soon as it came available. Production is tiny on this wine, in the low hundreds of cases. It's 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 16% Merlot, 10% Malbec and 9% Petit Verdot. The wine was aged a full 48 months in French oak barrels. The nose is positively explosive with ripe berries, spices and floral perfume. Because it's been slowly aging in the winery cellar the palate is silky soft and shows really complex layers of flavor from black cherries and black currants to cocoa, roasted coffee, black truffles and woodsmoke. Drinking at an incredible peak of perfection because all of the cellaring has been done for you. And luckily for a short period of time we can offer this beautifully aged red at a remarkable sale price. But it's limited so don't wait. As we said the 2007 was our fastest selling wine of the year!! You won't want to miss this.
