About Querceto 2020 Chianti Classico
In Italian "querceto" means oak grove, which is where the Castello di Querceto got its name. Nestled in a high valley near Greve in the Chianti Classico zone, the castle, which dates back to the 15th century, is surrounded by a grove of oak trees. Wine production is a legacy here and quality is a tradition. Even with this entry level Chianti DOCG it's clear that the wine surpasses expectations and offers phenomenal value.
James Suckling scored this 92 points saying "Black cherries and lemons on the nose. Honeysuckle, too. It’s medium-bodied with firm, chewy tannins and a fresh finish. A little hard now, but should soften with time. Give it a year or two in the bottle. Try in 2024."
