A rare 2010 Hermitage. A vintage Robert Parker rates 97 points!

A rare find, this Hermitage is from the monumental 2010 vintage and has reach a compelling stage of delightful drinkability. Romain Duvenay is a talented oenologist, founder of the company NewRhône Millésimes. He is known to have one of the finest palates of the regions by his peers. He fell in love with all the wines of the Rhône Valley and in 2010 Romain Duvernay created the brand which bears his name. This 2010 Hermitage is one of his first wines and certainly a standout. From a vintage that Robert Parker rates 97 points this 100% Syrah is sourced from South facing vineyards with granite soils protected from northern winds.  Grapes were harvested at peak ripeness, destemmed and macerated over 3 weeks. The wine then aged 9 months in barrels.

Gilbert & Galliard scored this 94 points saying "Intense hue. Concentrated nose showing entwined oak aromas and spice notes and lovely black fruit and liquorice undertones. The palate displays wonderful density, refined, well-integrated tannins, fat yet also good exuberance. An adolescent wine all-set for a good future."
