About Rombauer 2021 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley
Here's another fabulous white wine from Rombauer. The 100% Sauvignon Blanc fruit for this wine comes from four carefully selected sites, 58% Sonoma County and 42% Napa Valley, offering lots of sunshine yet moderate temperatures, ideal conditions for growing Sauvignon Blanc.
The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed while the fruit was still cool. 86% of the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks. The remaining juice was fermented in neutral French oak barrels to impart weight and texture to the wine. The barrel-fermented portion was blended back into tank after three months in barrel. The wine was bottled under Stelvin aluminum closure - another Rombauer first - to preserve the freshness and vibrancy so appealing in this Sauvignon Blanc.
It shows vibrant aromas of passionfruit, white peach, and nectarine jump out of the glass, underscored by hints of fresh-cut grass and kaffir lime. The palate, tightly focused and vibrant, features notes of juicy white peach with gooseberry and ripe grapefruit present as well.
