About Simone McClean 2020 Zinfandel, Paso Robles

91 Points and Wine Enthusiast Best Buy!

The founder of McClean Vineyards grew up on fourteen beautiful acres of Syrah in Paso Robles. He loved everything about it. He loved the smell of the grapes, the rolling hillsides, the dogs running through the fields, the stories shared over wine... He loved all of it, except for the way the bottles looked and what they represented. At the time, every major wine maker in the region and around the world, insisted on printing the same old-school wine label: an estate, a family crest, a fence, a path to a house. It felt boring. Trapped in tradition.

McClean wanted to represent wine as it is: Artisanal. Impactful. Vibrant. Beautiful. Dynamic. Fresh.

Every bottle has a story to tell inside and outside. McClean Vineyard winemakers pour craftsmanship and passion into every bottle, so that those sharing a bottle can connect in the way that matters most.

Simone (Zin) is finesse, not force. She dresses in silk; nothing coarse. She is intricate yet unassuming. You’re not likely to find a more entertaining dinner guest – or bottle of wine. Simone is a deeply hued addition to your table offering a wide array of red and black fruit notes. Finely grained tannins and a soft mouthfeel are products of careful oak maturation and come along with a versatile food pairing wine.
