About Sinegal 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
The Sinegal Estate is a family-owned, historic 30-acre property. Originally it was known as the Inglewood Estate, acquired in 1879 and first vines planted in 1881. Located in the heart of the renowned St. Helena AVA, Sinegal Estate is home to perfect soil, subtle microclimates and a variety of terrains. The Sinegal family purchased the property in 2013 and inherited many acres of noble vines.
This 2018 is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot. The wine was fermented in 90% stainless steel and 10% oak tanks and aged for 20 months in 85% new oak barrels.
Vinous scored this 97 points saying "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon turned out beautifully. Rich, sumptuous and incredibly alluring, the 2018 will drink well right out of the gate. Dark red fruit, mocha, spice and licorice are some of the notes that build in the glass. I would give it a few years in bottle, or alternatively, open it in advance. Aeration and the passage of time did wonders for the 2018. It spent 20 months in barrel, 85% new.
