About Technique 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley
Here's another stunning Technique wine. This comes from vintner Trevor Sheehan who after spending nearly a decade learning from the master winemakers of Burgundy and Bordeaux and collecting and trading the world's finest wines, he became determined to create brands that bring bold flavors and rich character at affordable prices. Once back in California he made contacts with a wide array grape growers in the heart of California's best AVA's. His wines all reflect his amazing ability to source incredible grapes.
This Cab is sourced from a single Alexander Valley vineyard near Healdsburg. The vineyard was planted in 1992, so the vines are over 25 years old giving them deep roots. These mature vine grapes bring intense flavors to the finished wine. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 10% Petite Verdot and 5% Zinfandel aged in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months.
Like all of the Technique wines this Ripe Cab shows a medium body with great fruit flavors and smooth polished tannins. It has aromas of black cherry, cassis, plum, blueberry, vanilla and cocoa. It's definitely a fruit forward, lush wine but with the balance and concentration to age beautifully. And of course the icing on the cake is the extremely attractive discounted price we're able to offer for this gem. Don't miss it.
