Tenuta di Renieri is located in the southernmost part of the Chianti Classico zone, in the town of Castelnuovo Berardegna. Here the warmer temperatures produce bigger, riper wines than in the more northern villages. Part of the Bacci group of Tuscan wineries, Marco Bacci oversees the winemaking, using modern techniques while expressing the local terroir. 2015 was an outstanding vintage and an ideal one to produce this This Gran Selezione. 100% Sangiovese from Bacci's hillside vineyards that produce very low yields. It is aged 30 months in French Allier oak, 50% new barrels.
James Suckling scored this 95 points saying "Full bodied, firm and structured. Ripe with lots of and cherry character and hints of earthiness . Full body, round and juicy tannins and a long finish."
