From Antinori's celebrated Bolgheri estate Tenuta Guado Al Tasso on the coast of Tuscany. The estate has 750 acres of vines in this sun-drenched region that is tempered by the cooling effects of the Mediterranean Sea breezes. The grapes for this 2014 Il Bruciato are sourced from a roughly 200 acre area with varying elevations. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Syrah aged 10 months in French oak barrels. Wine Spectator scored this 2015 92 points saying "This is dark but not brooding, with a burst of ripe black currant and black cherry fruit shaded by licorice, spice and mint. Features grip and a lingering finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Drink now through 2020." and James Suckling scored it 93 saying "Aromas of black currants, black berry and wet earth follow through to a full body, dark and juicy fruit and a long and flavorful finish. Layered and rich with a lovely ripe tannin mouthfeel. Shows the opulence of the outstanding 2015 vintage."
