About Tenuta Sette Cieli 2020 Noi 4, Bolgheri DOC

Tenuta Sette Cieli is located between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, on the coast of Tuscany at 400 meters above sea level. The Estate sprawls out over 80 hectares, 10 of which are set up as vineyards. The Estate overlooks Bolgheri and its landscapes made up of gently down sloping hills that enclose the sea, thus creating a fantastic mild and temperate microclimate.

Fully respecting nature and the vines, Sette Cieli has chosen organic viticulture to cooperate to the safekeeping of the environment. In the vineyards, every operation is done by hand with careful attention. The journey continues in the cellar where, moreover, the careful labour of the vineyards goes on, using single-variety vinifcation. Fermentation starts with wild yeasts, found on the skins of the grapes, so all the process is natural. The final selection of the wines is done only after a period of barrel ageing in French oak barrels.

A blend (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc) born of the desire to explore new territories, refined in barriques for eight months. This wine is very expressive in what was the vintage 2020. It’s characterized by a very elegant nose, fresh fruitiness, balanced acidity, good persistence with an interesting minerality. In the mouth the tannins are very soft and round.

Rated 93 Points by Jeb Dunnuck saying, "Composed of the four grapes of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, and raised in French oak for 8 months, the 2020 Noi4 is ripe with black plum compote, pencil shaving, and menthol tobacco. On the palate, it is full and balanced, with a bit of iron rich meatiness, an elegant texture, ripe tannins, and fresh acidity. This is a balanced and versatile wine to drink over the next 8-10 years."

Rated 91 Points by James Suckling saying, "Berry and cherry aromas with undertones of pine cones that follow through to a medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish."
