An exceptional Cuvee of 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah with 2014 Oak Knoll Merlot.
This wine comes from the Amizetta Estate winery and the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend is sourced from their steep, south-facing 40-acre parcel at the base of Howell Mountain in the Conn Valley region of Napa Valley with an elevation of over 1,000 feet. The vineyard is farmed by Jim Barbour renowned for his work with vineyards like Hundred Acre, Grace Family and Pride. The Merlot in the blend is sourced from Jenny Wagner's Emmolo vineyard and winemaker Edward Clark was mentored by Jenny's father Chuck (I think we know what winery he started). Edward brings a deft hand for producing balanced wines with a fruit-forward quality. A dash of Petite Sirah rounds out this lush blend that received a huge 96 point score from the Beverage Testing Institute who said "Dusty garnet color. Aromas and flavors of menthol mint, spiced blueberries, eucalyptus, and farm lands with a satiny, vibrant, fruity medium-to-full body and a warming, complex, very long vanilla mint and cola, spiced chocolate toffee, and pepper jelly on biscuit finish with fine, chewy tannins and moderate oak. A rich, complex, satisfying red blend with great style and structure." Limited!
