Turnbull has been rooted in the culture and history of the Napa Valley for nearly 40 years. A small, multi-generational family business guided by the long view principle of sustainability. Over the years they have managed to procure some of the very best parcels of land in the valley enabling them to produce estate grown wines meaning they have a hand in every step of the grape growing and winemaking processes. This wine is their Oakville Reserve Cab and it's a barrel selection of the finest parcels from their estate vineyards. A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot.
The Wine Advocate scored this 93 points saying "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve has a baked black cherries, black berries and wild blueberries-scented nose with hints of lavender, pencil shavings and earth plus a touch of cloves. The palate is full-bodied and bursting with black berry and earthy flavors, supported by soft, rounded tannins and finishing with a hint of pepper."
and Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 95 points saying "This is a grainy, herbal red wine, boldly tannic and softly smooth in texture. It takes on mountain airs of sage, clove and tobacco, with a brushy graininess that adds complexity and intrigue. Blackberry, black cherry and currant give a tart fruitiness to the flavor."
