    About Vendetta 2014 Red Blend, Francis Ford Coppola

    Here's the wine you can't refuse. With Vendetta, Francis Coppola takes us back to his Godfather days complete with blood stains and bullet holes. But as we all know it's what's in the bottle that really counts, and here we're dealing with grapes from the "dream" 2014 vintage in California. This is a Bordeaux style blend made in a bold style with 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Malbec. He sources the Cabernet from Lake County and the Malbec from Monterey. The wine was aged 13 months in oak. Abundantly spicy with notes of pepper and toasted wood, Vendetta boasts juicy fruit, a velvety mouthfeel, and supple tannins. What begins with an intriguing nose of lavender, leather, and graphite, emerges with rich layers of cassis, cherries, and wild raspberries. Concentrated yet elegant, it’s a wine you can’t refuse.
