Tucked away in Australia’s south-west corner not far from Margaret River’s town centre and an equal distance from the magnificent coastline, Xanadu has a long history of crafting outstanding wines that embody all the region has to offer. One of the region’s first vineyards established in 1977 by Dr John Lagan, and now one of the country’s most acclaimed wineries, Xanadu is a true reflection of its idyllic setting and poetic namesake.
Winemaker Notes
The generous palate is packed full of juicy fruits of the forest, cassis and chocolate characters. Medium to full-bodied, the fleshy fruits are supported by moreish, supple and ripe tannins. A balanced wine, with a persistent fruit finish with beautiful regional savory inflections of bay, black olive and licorice.
Blend: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Shiraz, 3% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
91 Points Australian Wine Companion
86/6/3/3/2% cabernet sauvignon/shiraz/merlot/cabernet franc/petit verdot. Matured for 14 months in French oak (20% new). Pretty, vibrant, layered with blackcurrant and spice. A beautiful wine, especially at the price!
