About Z. Alexander Brown 2016 Uncaged, Proprietary Red, North Coast

Known for his band and his music, Zac Brown is a creative spirit who has a passion for bringing music, food, and people together. The next logical step for him was to make wine. For this, his Uncaged series he teamed up with the resources of Delicato Family Wines and Napa Valley Winemaker John Killebrew, who grew up in California, developed a love for nature, gardening, cooking, and music at an early age. As a winemaker, John is able to stay immersed in nature. Working in partnership with Zac and accessing the Delicato's superb quality grapes he's able to create wines with true character and style that offer a lot for a little. This Proprietary Red blends Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Verdot, Malbec, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon into a smooth but layered wine. It aged 9 months in one-third new French and American oak barrels.

Tasting Panel Magazine scored this 93 points saying "This red overdelivers from nose to palate. From its deeply rich dark chocolate aromas to its equally indulgent flavor profile, this is structure without tannic tightness. Blackberry jam pervades and the acid is bright for pairing with lighter fare (chicken, grilled fish) to the beefiest dishes."
